Who is publishing my books? Me, of course! As an indie author, I opted to create an LLC to manage my publishing and book ventures. As of now, this is a Cozy-only venture, but I'll announce via my newsletter and social media if I ever expand.
I recognize that while I am technically a marginalized author being queer, trans, and neurodivergent, I benefit from many privileges, such as my whiteness, higher education, and housing stability. As such, I am committed to donating 25% of the profits from all of my books and joining anthologies to raise money for good causes. None of the beneficiary organizations are in any way affiliated with me (Cozy DuBois), Heartwood Forest Publishing, or the books, but are simply organizations that I selected.
The Confession series features several characters who experienced housing instability, so the beneficiary is Avenues for Youth, an organization that partners with youth experiencing homelessness in Hennepin County to achieve their dreams.
Bi The Way, I Love You benefits two amazing organizations: Rainbow Railroad and Bi Pride UK.
The proceeds from Bi All Accounts go toward Bi The Book, a virtual writing conference dedicated to amplifying Bi+ voices.
In the course of writing Glimmer in the Dark, severe storms struck the western coast of Alaska, devastating local communities. The beneficiary organization for Glimmer in the Dark is the Alaska Community Foundation.
For Luck's Sake was written and released while ICE was (and still is) occupying Minneapolis (where I live), so the beneficiary organization for any of my Sleighbell Springs titles will be the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, which is a nonprofit providing free legal support to low-income immigrants and refugees in MN and surrounding communities.
Proceeds from the epilogue anthologies will be going entirely to charities chosen by all of the contributing authors.
Summer Weddings in Solberg will be benefiting Trans Lifeline.
